Design goals achieved!

On that weekend we made our two final tests this year. Both tests were a full success and showed that the deisgn of our Hybrid Rocket Engine W2000 is almost completed!

The following goals have been achieved during these tests

Stable operating behaviour during the whole burning time
Achieving the maximum chamber pressure
Stable combustion and post-combustion
Operation of the thrust chamber at maximum chamber pressureand high temperature
Stable operation even at very low temperatures
No ice formation in the pipes
Conducting two tests consecutively
Determining the optimum fuel

In both videos you can see how the combustion slowly decreases after 5 seconds, because the liquid phase of nitrous oxide in the tank is depleted and therefore only gas is arriving in the combustion chamber.
